Samsung announced its new Galaxy S24 smartphone lineup during today’s Samsung Unpacked livestream. The new line includes the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S25 Ultra Android phones, all of which launch on January 31 and are available to preorder at Best Buy and Samsung.
While the three models differ in size, camera specs, and functionality, all three sport a set of similar features, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with large vapor cooling–which should be great for gaming performance–as well as a collection of AI-powered capabilities. Samsung is pushing the AI features as the big draw of the S24 line, and all three phones will include “Circle to Search,” which lets users draw a circle around an object in any image to search for it on Google, and even perform two-way live translations for text and phone calls. There’s also a suite of AI-powered photo and video editing tools, including the ability to enhance video recorded at lower fps up to 120fps.
In addition to those features, Samsung also says it will support the new devices with OS generation updates and security patches for the next seven years, which is longer post-launch support than most smartphones usually get.
The Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra are all available for preorder now at various online retailers. The preorder window lasts until January 30. On top of those preorder deals, ordering directly from Samsung also gets you 20% off Samsung Care+ with Theft and Loss coverage, six free months of Microsoft 365 Basic, two free months of Adobe Lightroom, and four free months of SiriusXM.
Oh, and Samsung has three exclusive color options for all S24 models: Titanium Green, Titanium Blue, and Titanium Orange. Those color choices are not available from other retailers.
Best Buy preorder offers:
Best Buy is offering its own batch of Galaxy S24 preorder deals as well. This includes the same free storage upgrade preorder deal as Samsung, plus up to $870 off your preorder and up to $150 in Best Buy e-Gift credit when you trade in an eligible device (final savings and credit amounts will vary). These offers are available until the preorder window ends on January 30.
Preorder Samsung Galaxy S24
Starting at $800
The standard Galaxy S24 features a 6.2-inch dynamic AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate. The screen is an “edge display” that stretches the entire front of the device with super-slim bezels. Along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, it also sports 8GB RAM, a 4,000mAh battery, and either 128 or 256GB internal storage space.
For the cameras, the Galaxy S24 will have a 12MP front-facing camera, and three rear-facing lenses including:
- 50MP Wide-angle
- 12MP Ultra Wide-angle
- 10MP Telephoto with 3x Optical Zoom
The Galaxy S24 starts at $800 for 128GB, or $860 for 256GB.
Preorder Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus
Starting at $1,000
The mid-size Galaxy S24 Plus features a 6.7-inch dynamic AMOLED screen with Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate. The Galaxy S24 Plus’ camera specs are identical to the baseline S24, but the Plus has 50% more RAM (12GB) and a larger, 4,900mAh battery.
The Galaxy S24 Plus will cost $1,000 for 256GB and $1,120 for the 512GB option.
Preorder Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Starts at $1,300
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the biggest and most powerful of the S24 line, featuring a 7.7-inch dynamic AMOLED edge screen with Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate. Like the S24 Plus, the Ultra has 12GB RAM. Along with boasting the most screen real estate, the Ultra has the largest battery capacity of the trio at 5,000mAh.
Also like the other two devices, it has a 12-MP front camera while adding four rear-facing lenses:
- 200MP Wide
- 12MP Ultra Wide
- 50MP Telephoto with 5x Optical Zoom
- 10MP Telephoto with 3x Optical Zoom
The S24 Ultra also includes more powerful AI features compared to the other S24 models, as well as a more robust titanium frame and Corning Gorilla Armor, which is 4x more scratch resistant and can reduce glare by up to 75%. It also comes with an integrated Galaxy S Pen.
You can preorder the Galaxy S24 Ultra in three storage capacity options, starting at $1,300, for 256GB, $1,420 for 512GB, or $1,660 1TB.
