ForbesNYT ‘Connections’ Today – Hints And Answers For Monday, June 10By Kris Holt

Hey there, everyone! I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since Connections started. (Although this is the 366th edition, tomorrow is the actual anniversary since 2024 is a leap year.) So much has changed for me personally and professionally over the last 12 months. I can’t overstate how much writing about this fun little game has altered the trajectory of my life.

I really appreciate you stopping by and hanging out with me every day. And an extra special thanks to anyone who’s take the time to drop me an email or Twitter message about the column — especially when I’ve made a mistake that I need to correct!

Here’s to many more years of this and hopefully growing a little community around the game. (If you’re interested in joining a Slack or Discord group to discuss Connections, let me know! If enough people are interested, I may just set one up.)

Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers are coming right up.

How To Play Connections

In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like horror movie franchises, a type of verb or rappers.

There’s only one solution for each puzzle, and you’ll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is typically the hardest one to deduce. The purple group often involves wordplay, so bear that in mind.

Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you’re incorrect, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some hints, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s Connections answers.

What Are Today’s Connections Answers?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Connections answers.

This is your final warning!

Today’s Connections answers are…

  • Yellow group — homophones (BI, BUY, BY, BYE)
  • Green group — muscles, informally (AB, PEC, QUAD, TRI)
  • Blue group — music genres (DUB, EMO, POP, TRAP)
  • Purple group — setting on an appliance knob (HI, LO, MED, OFF)

A second perfect game in a row brings me up to 21 wins, extending my personal record-breaking streak.

I really enjoyed this one. While it might look a little complicated at first glance, I found it pretty straightforward. EMO was my entry point into the blues, even through there was a risk of a red herring with TRAP as a type of muscle. Thankfully, I had nothing to worry about there and the greens were next up for me.

The yellows were straightforward enough, and that left me with the relatively easy-to-figure out purple group.

That’s all there is to it for today’s Connections clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog for hints and the solution for Wednesday’s game if you need them.

P.S. I’m continuing my wee run of Scotland national football team anthems ahead of Euro 2024 with Gala’s “Freed From Desire.” I know a lot of teams like to use that track, but the Scottish version, which replaces the chorus with “Scotland’s on fire / your defense is terrified,” can’t be beaten when it’s belted out by many thousands of my compatriots.
